Skyler Design Build, LLC (“Skyler”) is currently looking to fill a Business Development and Account Manager role for Nationwide Healthcare Construction operations. This position focuses on development of core-client management skills, with an emphasis on managing new and existing commercial and medical construction clients. Appropriate candidate will develop and maintain a sales territory consisting of a defined sales goal, which may be subject to change. He/she will be accountable for retaining existing accounts and growing business while maintaining strong and trusting partnerships with clients. He/she will be a strategic partner in expanding Skyler’s presence within the designated territory and will be accountable for maximizing sales that broaden Skyler’s position first in Houston, TX and Denver, CO market, but eventually other national markets (Skyler is currently licensed and working in North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina, Arizona, and Louisiana with growth markets in Georgia, Alabama, and Arkansas).

Daily interaction with Skyler’s new and existing clients, project managers, superintendents, foremen, field management, administration, other sales personnel, vendors, and owners will provide a unique opportunity to wear several hats during the pre-construction sales, execution and post-construction processes.

Performs business development and marketing activities including planning and strategy for a specifically assigned client/customer or market segment. Position is highly visible to existing and potential clients and requires the ability to influence/persuade. Locates business opportunities with new and existing customers by building long-term business relationships with key decision makers. Quality of effort greatly impacts corporate image and revenue stream. Develops and facilitates the proposal process for specific clients including budget and pricing development, proposal writing, and client presentations. Assists in the contract negotiation process.

Responsibilities
  • Identify potential customers and make cold calls that result in meetings and convert prospects into actual sales.
  • Establishes goals and objectives, and strategies for developing new business while maintaining previous client relationships.
  • Develop both new and existing accounts and expand business through face-to-face contact with the customers.
  • Maintains a customer/prospect database that contains the names, addresses and actual phone numbers of actual and prospective accounts as well as all of the names of the officers and key office and field personnel that represent these customers/prospects. Regularly uses and maintains customer/prospect database.
  • Develops and leads effective management, communication and tracking processes, and implements Client Relationship Management (CRM) strategies supporting Sector client goals.
  • Identifies short-term and long-term client needs or concerns to address; provides pertinent information and follow-up.
  • Works with owners and critically reviews and approves key proposals submitted to clients, ensuring signing authorities are enforced.
  • Serves as main client contact and advises appropriate departments of prospects and submittal. • Represent a full spectrum of services offered by Skyler in the commercial, industrial, medical, residential, and specialty markets for construction, grounds, landscaping, and maintenance services lines of the business.
  • Actively participates in professional and/or industrial organizations to promote the Skyler brand. Represents and promotes Skyler at networking events, professional and industrial associations, society meetings, conferences, and tradeshows.
  • Communicates clearly and collaborates with engineering, as required, to insure accurate proposals.
  • Prepares proposals and obtains appropriate managerial approval.
  • Drafts final proposals, insuring management approval and customer signatures are obtained.
  • Presents proposals while selling the features and benefits of our products to close sales.
  • Partners with architectural and engineering firms for jobs under contract and obtains approved drawings.
  • Conducts regularly scheduled jobsite service visits instructing the workers in the proper and safe utilization of equipment thereby shortening their learning curve. Ensures that the customer is satisfied with the services they are receiving.
  • Accountable for all credit interactions with the customer including obtaining contractor approval of invoices, making adjustments through credit requests and insuring prompt payment, as well as preparing and distributing monthly account status reports. Additionally, he/she settles accounts as soon as possible after the last major return of a project regarding lost material, damaged product, cleaning, freight and final returns.
  • Timely and accurately completes weekly sales reports and provides information as needed for backlog and sales projections.
  • Visits job sites as required.
  • Continually builds product knowledge.
  • Assists in ensuring safe working practices and a safe working environment.
  • Some overnight travel as required. Additionally, he/she may be called upon to make sales or service calls outside of the designated territory as needed.
  • Collaborates with the owners ensuring company and branch sales initiatives are aligned and achieved.
  • Coordinates the pre-construction meeting with the Project Manager prior to mobilization.
  • Perform analysis and interpret results into actionable steps.
  • Assists closeout process and packages.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
